Why did you want to be a trainer?

I graduated with a BS in Health Science, Health Administration. However, I didn't realize until after the fact that I did not like the admin side of the industry, and after 5 years working somewhere I hated, I decided that it is ok to do the thing I love, even if it's hard at first, even if I feel stupid, even if someone said I couldn't, I knew I could be the example to my children.

What kind of certification do you have?

I have an ACE personal training, PiYo, and Kettlebell certification. The ACE certification is no joke! I got a giant textbook to study from and had to pass the hardest, most expensive test I've ever taken. No pressure! But it was well worth it. I am most excited about the continuing education credits in New York this year!

At what age do you feel personal training is beneficial?

At all ages! There is a need for physical activity and hopefully younger people are getting that, but as we all know, that's not exactly the case these days. For youth I recommend fund, playful activities. If there's a teenager who plays sports and wants to get stronger then they should get a personal trainer or strength coach so they don't get injured. Also there are overweight youth and lost of crap out there targeted at this young impressionable audience so having a personal trainer can set them straight and on a path to adopting a healthy lifestyle and more confidence.

What do you like most about training?

I love helping people! I know it's such a cliche, but it's true. To be there when someone hits their goal wight, or size or performs and exercise the couldn't do before, or has become pain free or has that AHA moment...these are special moments that I get to be a part of. Knowing that I helped someone achieve it is a high like no other!

What is your view on taking supplements?

Do you specialize in a particular field of training ?

Not yet! I know it's important to have a niche, but in order to do that, I want to train all types: ages, gender, and physical ability to find out what I'm the best at.
